I agree with you, as a muslim woman myself who wears the hijab (soon be wearing the niqab) find it sad that so many of my muslim sisters in Islam find that it is OK to wear make-up and go out with it. However, the Quran and Hadith clearly indicate such actions are forbidden.

Muslim Women (who observe the hijab/niqab) should not be wearing ANY make-up when their outside of their home (or their relatives home). The purpose of the hijab is to be modest and NOT to attract anyone ... by putting on make-up and going outside (e.g. public space) defeats the purpose of modesty.
