Description:

my first short, which is about life, death, reality and the interpretation of them. it's ment as more of a visual experiment - hence the limited dialogue and distinct lack of acting - but, it's also a conceptual piece about seeing life in a different way. there are many philosophy refrences in it, focusing mainly on the two extremes of nihilism and taoism. and also there are many easter eggs, most of which are connected to philip k dick. hope you enjoy x please message me if you want to discuss anything you see in the short, i'd love to hear other people's opinions on these topics.

0 = infinity we can achieve something good in this life and there will always be an opposite force working to balance it out. In fact everything from this world all has something with it that makes it no different from anything else. You seek happiness get it but a problem will pop up and you fix that problem and another rises, in short life is the infinite search for the pure goodness and liberation from the bad which is the liberation from everything.

some potentially interesting things going on here, but ultimately just feels like an indiscriminate jumble of philosophical, religious, and literary references (not to mention the "borrowed" style from Waking Life....) i enjoy seeing this sort of search for meaning in films, and this is a good first step if you are truly trying to explore these ideas in life, but be careful not to let yourself be satisfied with philosophical snippets and succumb to an existential lethargy. delve further!

the short is really an adventure, showing that life is the answer, by looking (albeit briefly) at philosophies such as objectivism, nihilism and taoism. hence scenes that involve a man shooting in the sky, before we see nietzsche speaking on the television about the death of god in western society; and a man on the brink of suicide turning against the notion by emptying his mind, and eventually arriving at the white expanse. after all, only through nothing can we achieve everything.

yes, due to resource limitations (e.g no actors) and the request for the story to be cut in half by my lecturer, the plot is thin on cliches (violence, sex, etc). but, i hear you.

I really like this. it's not big on plot and maybe a bit to much is forced. but i like it.
